After arrival our representative will meet you. After that we will be proceed towards Bahlukpong. On the way can visit Tippi Orchids, which is one of the famous Natural View in North East part of India. Then check into hotel. If time permits than evening birding around Bhalukpong. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 2: Bhalukpong – Lama Camp (Eaglenest)
Located in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. Eaglenest is Jewel of Indian birding within an area of 217 sq km. The altitude range of Eaglenest varies from 500 m to 3300 m. The range of elevation makes this place an extra ordinary place for birding. Eaglenest comprises a diverse habitat of great altitudinal range of semi-evergreen forest and tropical wet evergreen forest. In last few years, Eaglenest is rated as one of the best birding site in the world, with over 650 bird species in & surrounding forest of the sanctuary.
The birding in Eaglenest is not demanding. The unpaved road connects the whole sanctuary which makes it good excess to the entire altitudinal range. Eaglenest is a notified protected area with the surrounding population of Bugun and Sherdukpen tribe. For last one decade it has been a prime destination for bird watchers from all around the world. Eaglenest as a sanctuary got its main recognition after the discovery of new bird Bugun Liochicla in the year 2006.
Eaglenest is a Bio-Diversity hotspot. Other than great birding, the whole Eaglenest range is extremely rich for Mammals viz; Red Panda, Clouded Leopard, Asiatic Elephant, Tigers, Leopard variety of Squirrels, Wild Bison, Dhole, Arunachal Macaque, Capped Langur and different species of Wild Cats including Golden Cat, Marble Cat, Leopard Cat etc.
Eaglenest is also equally important for Butterflies / Moths / Frogs / Reptile scientist and lovers.
Few Important birds of Eaglenest are; Bugun liocichla, Ward's Trogon, Beautiful Nuthatch, Barwing, 7 species of Wren Babblers, 4 species of Shortwings, Rufous-necked Hornbill, Sikkim Wedge-billed Babbler, 3 species Trogopan's, many species of Laughing Thrush, Great/ Lesser Rufous-headed Parrotbill.
Early morning we will proceed towards Lama camp from Bahlukpong. Enroute birding session at Sessa Orchid Sanctuary. At evening we will reach Lama Camp. Overnight stay at Tents.
Day 3: Lama Camp – Bompu Camp
Start early in morning looking for rare Bugun Liocichla & other specialties of the area. Have breakfast cam camp. Take packed lunch drive to Bompu camp. Full day birding .Overnight stay at tents.
Day 4: Bompu Camp
Have early breakfast, full day birding till Khelong (Edge of Sanctuary), evening back to Bompu camp. Overnight stay at tents.
Day 5: Bompu Camp
Early breakfast at camp, take your packed lunch , Full day birding till Sunderview & Eaglnest Pass. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 6: Bompu Camp
This day we will go for full day birding till Sessni, Evening back at Bompu. Overnight stay at tents.
Day 7: Bompu Camp – Lama Camp
Early morning drive to Lama Camp. Full day birding covering higher areas to Eaglenest. Overnight stay at Tents.
Day 8: Lama Camp – Guwahati
This is a long day, Start early birding around Lama Camp & than drive for 8 hrs to Guwahati. You will be transferred to Guwahati for your onward journey.
