Arrived at Dibrugarh 5-6 hour drive to Miao. Dibrugarh is known as “Tea City Of India”. It is situated in the bank of river Brahmaputra in Upper Assam. En route cross unending open view of green valleys of Assam tea plantation and Ledo coal mining site. Overnight stay at a guest house Miao. Miao, a Sub-Division headquarter at Changlang district, is located in the backdrop of a region featuring splendid natural beauty of Noa-Dihing River. Patkai Bum mountain range and the eastern extension of the great Himalaya from the hilly terrain of Miao. Tangsa, Singpho and Lisu are the main tribes inhabiting the region. The tribal population has made the region well-known for opium cultivation because of its suitable climate in dry mountainous landscape. We can visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp here. It is considered as one of the oldest settlements of the Tibetan refugees in India. The camp s acclaimed for the production of high quality carpets, a bigger portion of which is exported in International market. A Buddhist Monastery inside the camp is also a major attraction.
Day 2: Maio to Hornbill
The day starts with 1.30 -2 hour drive from Miao to Deban. Deban, headquarter ofForest Department in Namdapha National Park, is called “Mihi-phi-phi” by the local Lisu tribal people, meaning “a place where wind blows continually”. Deban offer a magnificiant landscape along the scenic beauty along with the scenic beauty of the evergreen tropical forest. and from Deban trek about 4-5 hour up to Hornbill camp which is located in the middle of the rainforest surrounded by rich biodiversity, different species of birds, insects, animals, trees, fungi etc. overnight camp in tent. Hornbill, as the name signifies is one of the important buffer zone in Namdapha NP, where all four species of Hornbills namely, Great Hornbill, White-throated Hornbill, Rufous necked Hornbill and Wreathed Hornbill are seen. This enchanting campsite offers common view of several rare and endangered birds and mammals.
Day 3: Hornbill to Ranijheel
Leave for a four hour trek, en route visit Bulbulia to see hot water sulphur springs. On the way to Ranijheel cross evergreen, bamboo, secondary forest, right place for rare birds watching and photography around Ranijheel. Ranijheel is situated at a distance of 4kms from Bulbulia on the way to Firmbase. It is major bird watching zone falling in the buffer zone of Namdapha NP. It is ideal spot for witnessing Gibbons. Lisu tribal community calls this place as “Oopa-yubi” meaning “frog pool”. It is small lake located at 2600ft on a highland and bounded all sided by tropical forest. Overnight at camp in tent.
Day 4: Ranijheel to Farmbase
The day trek starts downward slopes watching birds till reach Farmbase, one of the most scenic campsite. Afternoon stroll near the scenic river bank of Noa-Dehing river to watch White-belied Heron, an extremely rare bird which is only found in Namdapha from India. Overnight will camping in tent near the Nao-Dehing river bank.
Day 5: Farmbase
Start the day trekking a short distance to visit Ngwazakha village over the top of the hill and interact with peace loving Lisu tribe and return to the same Farmbase campsite. It is one of India's most scenic campsites where one can see the mighty Dapha Bum Peak looming in the distant horizon. One is usually sure to see the snowy-throated babbler on this stretch and if lucky perhaps even a red panda nibbling on some bamboo. Rest of the day will be free for bird watching around Firmbase or leisurely walks in the magnificent open landscape. Campfire in the evening. Overnight at Firm base Campsite.
Day 6: Farmbase to 27th mile
This day trek is along the scenic bank of Noa-dehing River till reach 27th mile campsite, crossing temporary bamboo bridges over Noa-Dehing River. Overnight camping near the river bank in tent.
Day 7: 27th mile campsite to Maio
Trek about 4-5 hour to reach 19th mile which is the road head. We board a vehicle from there. Drive up to Miao about 1.5 -2 hour. Overnight will in hotel/guest house.
Day 8: Miao to Dibrugarh
After breakfast check out from guest house at Mioa and drive towards Dibrugragh. You will be transferred to Dibrugarh for onwards journey.
